Guardianship, LLC's principal guardian, Sylvia C. Cabiran, J.D., is a professional guardian and curator with ten years of experience predominantly caring for the elderly in New Orleans and throughout the State of Louisiana since 1997.  She was the elder guardian/curatrix for the only state-funded guardianship service in Louisiana for four years before beginning her private practice.  She is an attorney in good standing in both Louisiana and California.  She has been a registered guardian with the National Guardianship Association for over eight years.  She has attended numerous conferences and seminars on guardianship, health care, elder law and ethics related to her guardianship practice.  She has been an advocate for civil rights for the elderly and the disadvantaged.  She has been a member of the Louisiana Elder Law Task Force, and has lectured on civil rights and guardianship for the Governors Office of Elderly Affairs, Elderly Protective Services, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, and for other organizations, universities, medical centers and health care facilities.
